• Full time position
• Working alternate weekends, with 1 day off during the week. (4 days one week, and 6 days the next)
• 28 Days off per annum (inclusive of bank holidays, which are normal working days).
• Training will be provided for the role.
• Ensuring that every customer has a great experience going through our checkouts.
• Assisting customers with their purchases and enquiries.
• Supervising and leading the team to ensure they give the same great service.
• Handing cash & payments
• Managing and planning rotas
You will come into contact with almost every single customer that comes through the doors. Having the right person & team is therefore essential!
The right person will: Be passionate about customer services & experience; Be friendly and approachable; Enjoy greeting and talking to people; Be compassionate – able to deal with customer issues & complaints in an understanding and sensitive manor; Be professional – Ensuring customers are helped in a kind, timely, courteous way.
We are looking for someone who has experience supervising or managing a department and team. Also, previous involvement cash handling etc.

Garden Shop Supervisor
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Garden Centre Team. The role will be responsible for the core product ranges for Gardening & Wild Bird Care.
You will be expected to plan seasonal ranges, order on a weekly basis, unpack goods and receive orders on our EPOS system. It is imperative that you can also be flexible, support other teams during the seasonal sales peaks, and manage your time accordingly. You would also have key holder responsibilities.
Customer experience is extremely important to us, and having the right people, in the right places, at the right time is key to making our business work.
You must be passionate about customer services & experience – Approaching, helping and inspiring customers in a friendly and polite way. You will have excellent communication skills & must enjoy talking to people.
You will be responsible for the performance of your categories. We strive to deliver ‘best in class’ & therefore, you must be pro-active, be able to use own initiative, and have a passion for driving sales.
This is a full time and permanent position working on a 6/4 rota (4 weekdays plus alternate weekends), 9am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 4.30pm.

We are looking for a trainee butcher/apprentice for Blakes Butchers within our Foodhall. Approx 40hrs per week on a 5 days out of 7 rota with alternate weekends off. On the job training will be given. Duties to include setting up displays, preparing meats, making sausages & burgers, serving customers, stock control , cleaning.
This job can be an apprenticeship if required.

Father Christmas Lookalikes*
During November and December we run a wonderful Christmas Grotto which is packed full of activities & fun for the children [and adults], and of course, a meeting with Father Christmas.
In addition, we also run a ‘Breakfast with Santa’ event, where children and families come in for one of our famous cooked breakfasts and get to meet Father Christmas and receive a brilliant gift.
We are looking for Father Christmas lookalikes to work in our grotto & breakfast events.
Candidates will need to be great with children and have a love for Christmas! To be successful, you will need to think on your feet, and be able to stay in character throughout.
We will provide full training, and we have a number of existing experienced lookalikes who can show you the ropes. Father Christmas experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
* Don’t worry we will provide a full quality costume including individual wigs.
We have a number of shifts available during November & December. These are usually 4 hours long, but can be up to 6 hours if covering the breakfast event as well.
Rates of pay are competitive, and in-line with national living wage.
We donate a proportion of the proceeds to local charities, so not only can the role be extremely rewarding, making Children’s Christmas’ special, but you are also raising money for great local causes.
